£75 for 3 months

Due to its popularity Sew Club has become rather exclusive!

Even though I have four separate groups, it’s not often that a place becomes available. Some of my original students still come once a month to Sew Club!

Because I would like to offer as many of my students as possible the opportunity of continuing classes with me it is now only possible to join Sew Club if you have done a Basic Course.

Each Sew Club group runs once a month, generally on a Friday morning from 10am till about 1pm.  I also have one group on a Tuesday morning.

I’m afraid I don’t run Sew Club in the evenings or at the weekends because  I also enjoy being a very busy mum with two gorgeous children who I want to spend lots of time with!

Sew Club London

There are two levels in Sew Club…

Level 1 is for those who have just completed the Basic Course. You can go on to make simple items designed to improve techniques and confidence. We work all together, step by step, and the fabric is provided all ready cut out so all you have to worry about is the sewing. There is no dressmaking at this level. Items we make include… cushion covers, bunting, bags, apron, appliqued book cover, fabric box, and hanging decorations.  There is a small extra charge for the fabrics provided.

Level 2 is for those who are ready for more of a challenge as you work on your own projects from scratch, with lots of guidance and advice from me.  You do need to be at a level to manage without my help for short periods of time as everyone works on different projects. Dressmaking is a popular choice at this level.

I have introduced a new Sew Club that will hopefully run once a month…  if I can fit one in!
This class is for anyone who would like to come to Sew Club but can’t join one of the regular groups.  It will take place on either a Monday or Thursday morning from 10am till 1pm. When I have some dates I will send a group email and places will be booked on a first come first serve basis.
The cost for this Sew Club is £30 per session.  There will be a small extra charge for materials if you want to to make the group project, or, if you are able to work on your own with direction, you can bring your own pre-cut project.
Please let me know if you would like to join the group email list.

SEW patterns – Morning sessions

Please have a look at the BOOKINGS page for dates.

It will take place on either a Monday or Thursday morning from 10am till 1pm. Due to space, this class will have a maximum of three students.

On a SEW PATTERNS session, you will learn how to use a simple pattern.  You can either bring your own simple pattern or use one of mine. I will explain how to work out your size,  IMG_7530work out fabric amount and type,  and make simple alterations to the pattern. With my help you will cut out your paper pattern, pin it onto some practise fabric and cut it out.

You will need to bring some calico fabric or cheap cotton fabric with you.
Calico is an unbleached cotton fabric that is often used to make a toile/mock up of a garment.  Until you know how the pattern actually fits it’s wise to have a trial run in a cheap fabric!

At the end of the session it will be ready to sew together at home or on one of my SEW DAYS.

SEW DAY – One day dressmaking class

Unfortunately the SEW DAY is only available to those who have completed a SEW BASIC Course or attended a private lesson with me. It would be a good idea to attend a SEW PATTERNS session prior to the SEW DAY.

Please have a look at the BOOKINGS page for dates.

It’s a long day, either a Monday or Thursday, starting at 9.30am and finishing at 5.30pm with a one-hour breakIMG_2599.JPG for lunch. There is a Waitrose and several cafés just 2 minutes walk away if you want to stretch your legs!

Sewing Machines are provided, but you can bring your own machine to use if you’d prefer.

On the SEW DAY,  I will guide you through the process of making up your own personally chosen pattern, which would need to be pre-cut at home or with me on a SEW PATTERNS session before the SEW DAY.  You will be working at your own pace so I’m afraid it’s impossible for me to guarantee completion as it depends on your level and choose pattern. However, if you feel able, to save time you could start the process at home and come at a stage in the instructions where you need help.
