SEW PATTERNS has been designed to give an introduction to dressmaking patterns and finishes with cutting out the fabric pieces. SEW PATTERNS UP is all about the sewing together. You can now choose what you need more help with… the cutting out or the sewing together. If you come to the SEW PATTERNS UP session only, you must have the fabric pieces cut out before you arrive.
SEW PATTERNS – CUTTING OUT

It will take place on a Thursday morning from 10am till 1pm. Due to space, this class can have a maximum of three students.

On a SEW PATTERNS session, you will learn how to cut out a simple pattern. I will explain how to work out your size, calculate fabric amount and type, and make simple alterations to the pattern. With my help you will cut out your paper pattern, pin it onto some ‘practise’ fabric and cut out the fabric pieces.
SEW PATTERN UP – DRESSMAKING CLASS

SEW PATTERN UP will take place on a Thursday morning from 10am till 1pm. This class can have a maximum of 6 students.

It is only available to those who have completed a basic sewing course or attended some private sewing lessons with me. You will need to have good knowledge and confidence when using a sewing a machine. You should be able to follow basic instructions and work independently. It would be a good idea to attend a SEW PATTERNS session prior to this class.
On a SEW PATTERN UP session, I will get you startedon the process of making up your sewing pattern. It MUST BE cut out in the fabric BEFORE the session. If you need help to cut out your fabric pattern pieces you can book a PRIVATE LESSON or a SEW PATTERNS session with me. Sewing Machines are provided, but you can bring your own machine if you’d prefer.
guarantee how much you will get done in the time. You are very unlikely to finish the garment in one session but can always book another SEW PATTERN UP session if you feel the need. I used to run a SEW DAY but it proved to be too tiring for everyone involved!
